The college is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R.Medical University, Chennai and approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi and recognized by Govt. of Tamilnadu. The infrastructure available makes the college a conducive academic learning that provides students with quality education in a clean and comfortable environment.

About us

Sree Abirami Charitable Trust was formed under the Chairmanship of Shri.Dr.P.Periyaswamy in the year 1996 with a strong motive to provide quality care to the humanity, by means of providing quality education.

Sree Abirami Hospital, the main part of the Trust, is the brainchild of two eminent personalities, Dr.P.Periyaswamy and Dr.Kunthavi Devi, who chose to deliver quality health care to the people of Coimbatore. The hospital started in 1992, has grown into a 300 bedded multi specialty facility due to the continuous efficient performance, hard work and public support.

The hospital has an ISO 9001-2008 Certification for quality health care. Besides providing best health care to people in and around Coimbatore including neighboring Kerala, the strategic location places the hospital as an important trauma care center in this region..

Sree Abirami Hospital

  • Sree Abirami Hospital, the main part of the trust with 300 beds, provides quality treatment at an affordable cost for the people. It is the brainchild of Dr.P.Periyaswamy and Dr.Kunthavi Devi whose desire of providing quality care to the needy has been met through the hospital. The hospital was started in 1992 and has gained wide popularity among the people of Coimbatore.

    The hospital is an ISO 9001-2000 certified Multispeciality hospital. It has advanced high-tech machineries to promote standardized care to the people, due to which people flock to this hospital.

D.Pharmacy is a two year regular full-time diploma Program designed to prepare candidates to work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist in hospitals, community pharmacies and other pharmaceutical related fields.

The course of academic training is of 2 years duration with minimum of 180 working days per year followed by a practical training not less than 500 hours covered in around 3 months in Government Hospital / Dispensary / pharmacy recognized by PCI-New Delhi

ELIGIBILITY

Minimum Qualification for admission to Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm.)

  • Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to any of the above examinations. Provided that a student should complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the course.
  • A pass in any of the following examinations with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics 10 +2 examination (academic stream) in science

B. Pharmacy is one of the popular job oriented undergraduate degree Program among the science students after HSc. Pharm.D Program is a six-year professional program leading to a Doctor of Pharmacy degree combines basic science education and application of advanced Clinical Pharmacy skills with contextual research so that the graduates will be prepared to contribute to innovations to improve patient quality of life through new discoveries. The program emphasizes problem-based approach to disease management. Pharm D comprises of five years of classroom/hospital-based didactic study and a research project followed by internship in the sixth year. Core subjects include Pharmacotherapeutics, Clinical Pharmacy, hospital and Community Pharmacy, Clinical Toxicology, Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics, Clinical Pharmacokinetics and Therapeutic Drug Monitoring, Clinical Research, Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomics, Biostatistics and Research Methodology and Clerkship. During the internship, candidates are imparted advanced lessons in clinical pharmacy services or pharmacy practice under the supervision of faculty members and clinical preceptors.

Minimum Qualification for admission to Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D)

  • Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to any of the above examinations. Provided that a student should complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the course.
  • 10+2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects: Mathematics or Biology.
